To support Malawi and Mozambique in increasing regional trade coordination, reducing trade costs and time, developing regional value chains, and improving access to infrastructure
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Drafted the Malawi/Mozambique Simplified Trade Regime Framework through a consultative process;
2. Conducted capacity building trainings for border agencies in Mwanza on Coordinated Border Management and delegated functions to agencies remaining at the border;
3. Supported the Review of One Stop Border Post (OSBP) Bill by PSs Committee; on constitution, legal and parliamentary affairs:
4. Recruited Junior Consultant to provide technical support to the National Trade Facilitation Committee;
5. Developed ToRs for a study that will identify the nature and scope of NTBs experienced between Malawi and Mozambique and their impact on trade.
